Deceased Estates

When a property owner dies, the law requires the executor (where there was a will) or administrator of the deceased’s estate to obtain a grant of probate or letters of administration before distributing the estate. This process requires the collation of the deceased’s assets and liabilities, assessment and payment of estate duties, preparation of letters and making application to the High Court for grant and then making the necessary transfers.
